Derby County next manager odds after Paul Warne sacking with clear early favourite
Derby County have announced that they've parted with manager Paul Warne after a run of eight straight defeats in all competitions which has left the Rams entrenched in a Championship relegation battle. Derby have made the call to part with Warne, who was installed as boss following the club's relegation to League One in 2022 and who restored their second tier status at the second time of asking last spring.
While Derby were generally competitive in the first half of the season, since Boxing Day their form has fallen off a cliff; they've lost seven matches on the spin, as well as being knocked out of the FA Cup by League One Leyton Orient, and have lost nine of their last ten - their sole success in that time being against West Brom on Boxing Day.
Warne has paid the price for that run of form, despite being granted an opportunity in the January transfer window to attempt to address things with additions. Norwich City await on Saturday afternoon at Carrow Road, but attentions otherwise turn immediately to who may succeed Warne and steer the ship away from the drop zone.
