Derby County transfer deal in doubt as surprising claim emerges from Germany
Derby County hopes of recruiting Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Oscar Fraulo this month have been left in limbo.
The Rams were said to be poised to land a deal for the Dane, who is currently out of favour at loan club Utrecht in the Eredivisie.
But according to the German media, Derby are yet to contact the player's parent club to discuss a loan to buy deal, putting any move in serious doubt.

Monchengladbach are aware of the 21-year-old's bit-part role at high-flying Utrecht, leaving club officials to decide whether to pressure the Dutch club to play Fraulo more regularly or simply end his loan outright, according to the Rheinische Post.
Fraulo came through the academy at Danish club Midtjylland before moving to Mönchengladbach in the summer of 2022. Ahead of his second season, however, he joined Utrecht on loan where he became an ever-present, scoring three times and adding four assists in 37 appearances for the club.
He returned to the Eredivisie club for another spell in the summer, but this time it has not gone as well. Fraulo has found playing time more sporadic and has not started any of Utrecht's last six matches.
Derby are said to see 'potential' in Fraulo and believe he can help them in what has been a difficult season so far in the Sky Bet Championship. They have also had success recruiting young talent from the Dutch league before, taking Kenzo Goudmijn from AZ.
Fraulo hopes to represent Denmark at the Under-21s European Championships in the summer, so will be keen for some regular playing time over the remainder of the season, and this could ultimately play into Derby's favour if indeed they are interested in the young midfielder.
