Paul Warne is hoping to speak to one of his transfer targets this afternoon and has targeted up to three deals before Monday's deadline.

With Eiran Cashin closing in on a move to Brighton, Derby are facing a busy end to the window as they look to revamp their squad for the final time this season.

Warne has targeted up to three positions before the close of play with a midfielder, a winger and a defender on the agenda. Issuing an update ahead of the Sheffield United game this weekend, Derby head coach Warne said: "We are pretty close, but not at the stage at where I speak to them.

"Once the fee is agreed, we don't do any skullduggery, but I am hoping to speak to one player this afternoon and one probably tonight. However, there is still the last bit of negotiation to do. The nice thing for me as a manager for me is this is all over on Monday. It's either happening or it's not happening. If this was to go on another six weeks it would be unbearable.

"You just want to work with the players you have got, and when the door shuts, you can just get on with it. The dressing room are well aware and will notice a different car in the car park. It's about steadying the ship and getting people who can help. Lars coming in has had a massive boost on the dressing room.

"The lads really feel he really brings something, the same as Matt (Clarke). If we can bring another two or three that can have the same effect, then I think we will be handsome."
