Derek McInnes next Hibs manager shout earns grim reality check over Kilmarnock boss

Derek McInnes has been linked with the Hibs manager vacancy this morning - but ex-attacker Tam McManus reckons he'd be MAD to leave Kilmarnock.

That was the grim reality check for supporters at Easter Road after Nick Montgomery was sacked for a dismal run of results that culminated in a 4-0 home hammering at the hands of Aberdeen last weekend. It was a job which cost the boss his job and triggered a clamour for a new head coach to arrive.

But when one punter suggested McInnes would not be tempted to leave Killie to take the job in Leith, McManus was quick to offer his take on the situation which won't prove as good reading for Hibees.

He said: "Sadly I have to agree with this. I’d love Derek McInnes at Hibs but being brutally honest why would any manager doing well at a club want to work under the current board/ownership at Easter Road."

McInnes just sealed fourth spot in the division and European football at Rugby Park for next term.
