Destiny Udogie, Micky van de Ven and Guglielmo Vicario were among those that embodied the culture Ange Postecoglou has built despite not featuring in the win over Liverpool. Though injuries have plagued his squad, the Spurs boss was able to make four changes to his starting XI, though two of those were enforced.

With Pape Matar Sarr and James Maddison suspended, Yves Bissouma and Rodrigo Bentancur came into the starting XI while captain Son Heung-min returned and new signing Antonin Kinsky made his debut in goal. Postecoglou also lost Bentancur to a scary injury after just a few minutes, but the player has since revealed he is ok.

Lucas Bergvall was perhaps fortunate to not leave early as well, though it would have been for a very different reason. After picking up a yellow card for a soft foul on Luis Diaz, the 18-year-old went sliding in to Kostas Tsimikas and did not get the ball.

However, upon playing the advantage, Stuart Atwell did not show a second caution with Bergvall going on to score the winner just moments after that controversial incident where Tsimikas was off the pitch. Even with all the absences and just two victories in the last six weeks, the available players put in a tremendous shift.

Tottenham now hold the advantage over Liverpool in their Carabao Cup semi-final, though a huge second leg awaits at Anfield. Thankfully for Postecoglou, that clash does not arrive for another four weeks and by that point the likes of Cristian Romero, Richarlison, Ben Davies and Van de Ven may all be back from injury.

Udogie, Vicario and Wilson Odobert are still expected to be missing, however their presence has seemingly been valuable on the sidelines. Sarr, Van de Ven and Vicario were all spotted celebrating the victory with Udogie making his true feelings clear.

On Instagram, he posted a story of himself, Sarr and Odobert enjoying the celebrations with the caption, "N17 [white heart and fire emoji]."

Having the full squad present and enjoying themselves at home games is a real testament to what Postecoglou is building. The performance on the pitch also showed a group that are firmly behind the manager - and hopefully consistent results will follow to make their effort worthwhile.
