Dias, Doku, Ake - Man City injury news and return dates ahead of Chelsea
Manchester City's injury woes continued with the news that Ruben Dias faces a spell on the sidelines.
It adds to a defensive crisis with Nathan Ake sidelined, Kyle Walker moving to AC Milan on loan and John Stones back but seemingly not fit enough to play from the start. It means Pep Guardiola could be forced with the prospect of throwing new signing Abdukodir Khusanov into the starting XI or asking Josko Gvardiol to play at centre half with Mathues Nunes and Rico Lewis in the full back positions.
Neither scenario is an ideal one and City remain without five senior players heading into a pivotal time of the year. Here's the latest from the City treatment room.

Ruben Dias
Injury: Abductor
What we know: Dias was replaced at half-time in Paris. Guardiola confirmed he asked to be replaced as he 'didn't feel good' and didn't feel like he could play in the second half. The City chief has subsequently confirmed the issue is an abductor problem and there is no timescale on his return.

What we know: Doku was one of the stars of the 6-0 win over Ipswich on Sunday but picked up an issue and did not travel to Paris for the loss to PSG.

What we know: Ake was not involved at Ipswich with the club confirming he was out injured. It is unclear what the issue is or when he might be fit to return to action but he wasn't involved against PSG.

Oscar Bobb
Injury: Fractured leg
What we know: Bobb has not featured for City this season having picked up a serious issue in pre-season. But he is closing in on a comeback in what will be a welcome addition to the squad. Guardiola said this month: “[He is] training with the team partially. That’s good news for us. It was a fractured bone. Now that is healed, he’s fine but good news is he’s back.”
Potential return date: February 2025
Rodri
Injury: Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL)
What we know: Rodri has sustained a serious knee injury and will be out until the middle of next year. He has spoken of his desire to play again this season, possibly in the Club World Cup. The Spaniard has travelled to Paris to support the squad, though.
