Diego Carlos update as Unai Emery breaks silence on Aston Villa transfer exit
Unai Emery has confirmed Diego Carlos could leave Aston Villa in this window with the club in talks over his exit.
Fenerbahce are reportedly trying to get a deal over the line for the Brazilian, who is due to enter the final 12 months of his contract in the summer. The 31-year-old was available for transfer in the summer, but a move never materialised.
Emery has been tight-lipped on Carlos' future in recent weeks, but was pushed on the defender's future ahead of Villa's clash with Arsenal. It'll be the fourth match in a row which Carlos will not play in.

"I don’t know," Emery said when asked if he thinks Carlos will be sold, before adding: "He had a medical report this morning and he is not feeling good.
"He is not going to train and he is not going to be available tomorrow. I know they are, more or less, in conversation about the possibility to leave, but I don’t know."
Before Villa's trip to Everton on Wednesday, Carlos hit back on social media claiming he was fit to play despite saying he was injured. On Instagram, the defender wrote: "I'm not injured".
Villa have lined up Loic Bade as a replacement for Carlos, but Monchi must sell the Brazilian before he can recruit another centre-back, which was the case back in August.
