Dimitar Berbatov's Manchester United reaction speaks volumes after Newcastle defeat
Dimitar Berbatov described Manchester United's situation with a simple emoji after their 2-0 defeat to Newcastle United on Monday night.
The former Reds striker has kept a close eye on his former club since leaving Old Trafford in 2012. He has often been a part of the Sky Sports coverage, having already starred this season.
Although he wasn't on punditry duty, he shared a picture of him watching the game on his iPad and simply described the defeat with a facepalm emoji. The defeat to Newcastle was United's fourth consecutive loss in all competitions as they sit just seven points off the relegation zone heading into the New Year.

Amorim's side will travel to Anfield to take on leaders Liverpool, who are flying in the Premier League this season.
Prior to Amorim being appointed as United manager, Berbatov showed his reservations about whether the current crop of players are suited to playing the Portuguese's way. "It won't be easy for him. He has a certain way of playing and I'm not sure this current squad is well suited to that 3-4-3 formation, so it will take time for him to get the right players in and also make his current ones adapt to the new way of playing," he told BetMGM.
"The current players need to step up, though. They need to show the new manager that they can adapt and want to be part of this new era at the club. It's not going to be easy as he plays a specialist formation, so it will be interesting to see which players he fancies and which he doesn't."
The former striker made his move to Old Trafford in 2008, completing his £30.75million transfer on deadline day. He would play a key role in United's quest for a third consecutive Premier League title under Sir Alex Ferguson.
The Bulgarian also had an illustrious career with Tottenham and Fulham in the Premier League.
