Diogo Jota was not visible during Liverpool's open training session on Monday ahead of Tuesday's Champions League meeting with Lille.

Jota did not figure in the Premier League win versus Brentford due to a niggle, and it appears as though he has not yet recovered from that problem.

Speaking ahead of Liverpool's trip to the Gtech Community Stadium on Saturday, Slot said of Jota: "He felt a little bit when he came in [against Nottingham Forest last week], a little niggle during the half-hour he came in. He could finish the game, but afterwards he complained a bit about it and that's why he didn't train yesterday [Thursday before the Brentford game].”

A 22-strong group of outfield players assembled to listen to instructions from Reds head coach Arne Slot on the turf at the AXA Training Center, but Jota wasn't among them.

Joe Gomez is the only other outfield player who wasn't spotted as he continues his recovery from the hamstring injury he sustained in Liverpool's win against West Ham at the end of December.

Slot admitted last week that Gomez was "quite far" away from returning to action, having said immediately after the center-back picked up the injury that he was facing several weeks on the sidelines.
