Disasi makes costly mistake, Nkunku and Felix ineffective - Chelsea player ratings vs Ipswich
Chelsea have slumped to back-to-back defeats in the Premier League for the first time under Enzo Maresca, as Ipswich Town recorded their first home win of the league season to shock the Blues.
The Tractor Boys took an early lead through Liam Delap after the striker was brought down inside the box by Filip Jorgensen. Delap scored from the spot despite Jorgensen going the right way.
Chelsea thought they had levelled the match later in the half but Joao Felix was adjudged offside as he struck into the roof of the net. Even with Chelsea pressing for an equaliser, it was Ipswich who grabbed the second goal of the game.
Omari Hutchinson fired into the bottom corner against his former club to put the hosts two goals to the good not long into the second-half.
Below, Bobby Vincent provides his player ratings from Portman Road...
Filip Jorgensen - Just a second start in the Premier League for the Dane. Not a great start - giving away a penalty around 10 minutes in. Made some good saves after that, though. 5.
Axel Disasi - Didn't look comfortable. His one-on-one defending is not good enough at times. Made a costly error to allow Hutchinson to double Ipswich's lead. 4.
Tosin Adarabioyo - Crucial block inside four minutes to deny Nathan Broadhead from close range. A real physical battle with the lively Delap. 5.
Levi Colwill - Not his best of games. A nice cross at one point that Madueke should have done better with. 5.
Marc Cucurella - Not his best day. Being booed for being fouled, though, which seems harsh. 5.
Moises Caicedo - Even he was dispossessed at times during the frantic opening where Ipswich were all over the Blues. 6.
Enzo Fernandez - Could not make the desired impact like we had seen for most of the month. 5.5.
Noni Madueke - Back in the squad, back in the line-up. Frustrating performance. We know he is a lot better. Should have scored after that Colwill cross in the first-half. 5.
Cole Palmer - Hit the post from a free-kick routine. Hit the crossbar later in the first-half. He looked the most likely in a Blues shirt. 6.5.
Joao Felix - Decision-making was not right at times. One in the first-half where he should have passed it to Christopher Nkunku but he shot instead. 5.
Christopher Nkunku - Should have done a lot better around 20 minutes in with a rebound from Palmer's free-kick which struck the post. Too quiet as the No.9. 5.
