While Hollywood is still feeling the effects of the writer's strike years later, that isn't a problem for the greatest reality show that continues to deliver every year. Ratings continue to soar and the league continues to rake in more money than they know what to do with.
As the clock strikes midnight on the 2024 season, it's only natural to wonder when we'll see the 32 teams compete again. For now, it's March Madness and the UFL's show before the NBA and NHL take us through the spring, and MLB gets us through the summer.
In the meantime, the football world will focus on free agency, the draft and then training camp before kicking off the preseason during the dog days of summer.
So it will be a bit before season No. 106 kicks off. At least there's plenty of time to binge-watch season 105. Here's when the NFL is set to return in 2025.
When does the 2025 NFL regular season start?
The 2025 NFL regular is expected to begin on Thursday, Sept. 4. Traditionally, the Super Bowl winner hosts the first game of the season on Thursday night after Labor Day with the remainder of the teams clashing over the weekend.
In 2024, the league added a new twist as the Philadelphia Eagles and Green Bay Packers faced off in Brazil on Friday in Week 1. That meant the NFL played games on Thursday, Friday, Sunday and Monday in the opening week.
It remains to be seen if the league will opt for another schedule like that or what other quirks could be built into it, but the NFL has almost made it a mission to take over every day of the week in recent years.
After missing just Tuesday on the bingo card in 2024, we'll have to wait a bit to see what they have in store for 2025.

The NFL schedule is typically released in the spring. They haven't announced an exact date yet, but it is typically announced in May after the draft and free agency give some clarity on what the 32 rosters will look like.
