The January transfer window is close to slamming shut for business with Manchester United and Manchester City looking to end the transfer season in a better position than they did before.

United are closing in on the £31.4million signing of Lecce left wing-back Patrick Dorgu but Ruben Amorim's men are set for a hectic end to the transfer window.

A new attacker seems to be the priority with Mathys Tel on their radar. Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford could both leave the Red Devils in what could be a dramatic final few days.

Following their difficult end to 2024, City have strengthened their squad with the signings of Omar Marmoush, Abdukodir Khusanov and Vitor Reis. Pep Guardiola's men have turned their form around in recent weeks and could look to add further reinforcements before Monday's deadline with the club yet to fill the void left in Rodri's absence through injury.

It's expected to be busy for both clubs over the next few days. Here is all you need to know about the transfer window closing..

When is deadline day?

Deadline day for the January transfer window is on Monday, 3 February, 2025. The transfer window closes at 11pm.

Can deals be done after that time?

Yes and no. Clubs will be able to submit a dealsheet before the 11pm deadline, which will give them extra time to complete deals in the works after the 11pm cut-off, but deals won’t be able to be completed if the dealsheet is not submitted.

If they have room in their Premier League squads, then clubs will also be able to complete the signings of any free agents after the deadline has passed.
