When does the summer transfer window open as Everton and Liverpool make deadline day decisions
The January transfer window is now closed, with Everton and Liverpool now having to wait until the summer for another chance to strengthen their squads. Premier League clubs had until 11pm on Monday night to complete their transfer business for the window.
Both Liverpool and Everton had relatively quiet January windows, especially in terms of new signings. The Blues spent the final hours of the window trying to sign Flamengo star Carlos Alcaraz, even submitting a deal sheet to the Premier League to get a deal over the line.
Liverpool, meanwhile, did not sign a single player in the window. This was despite the Reds being linked with several potential new signings since the turn of the year, but will now have to wait until later in the year to make changes to their squad.

Now the attention will turn to the business that both Everton and Liverpool could complete in the summer. There is still a long way to go before the summer window opens, but clubs across the Premier League will have the date circled on their calendar as a regular reminder.
Everton and Liverpool will officially be able to start their transfer business for the summer when the window opens on Thursday, June 12. Of course, deals could be agreed in principle before this date, but this is when moves can be officially completed before players typically formalise their moves on July 1.
The Blues and the Reds will have a little over two months to complete their transfer business, more than twice the amount of time given in the winter window. Deadline day for the summer has been pencilled in for 11pm on Friday, August 29, which will be a couple of weeks into the new Premier League season.
