I don't like Mohamed Salah comparisons - it happened to me at Liverpool
Mohamed Salah is in sensational form and has been all season. But I saw him say he might be in the best form of his career. I’m not sure about that, personally. When he got 44 goals in his first year, that was some going.
But certainly he has been excellent. He’s got the bit between his teeth. Whether whatever is going on with his contract is making him more competitive, I don’t know. It shouldn’t be the case but sometimes it is.
He’s making a great case for himself to get that new contract. If Liverpool really want to keep him, then it is what it is.

It has been going on too long and he’s got them in the corner. If they want to keep him, they have to pay him and he won’t come cheap.
He’s getting close to Thierry Henry and Kevin De Bruyne’s assists record now, as well as Kenny Dalglish’s for Liverpool in a season, and people are talking about him as maybe being the best player ever in Premier League history.
I don’t like comparing players. I was always compared to Rushie, I don’t like that. You’re your own player in your own way. You’ve got your own stats and attributes.
But Mo is right up there with the best. Rushie, Roger Hunt, Kenny, Kevin Keegan - they’re all in the same breath now because of what he’s done for Liverpool in the last seven or eight years. It’s remarkable really.
PSG will be tough
PSG will be a really tough one on Wednesday. The new format hasn’t worked in Liverpool’s favour, has it. We finished top and end up facing one of the toughest teams, but that’s the luck of the draw.
PSG were shocking when they started off this season, but they’ve hit a really good run. They’re on a massive run, have some great players and are a danger to anyone as Man City found out in the league phase.
They’re all really good players, aren’t they? You’ve got to do a job on them. You’ve got to nullify the service to the likes of Dembele. He’s a great player but he’s not the only one.
Alisson will have to have a really good game, the defenders too. PSG will get opportunities, and Mo and whoever plays up front with him has got to take their chances as well. Don’t squander them, take your chances and limit their opportunities as much as possible - that’s the plan.
They battered Brest in the play-offs. We have to go there and play really well, and defend really well too to bring something back to Anfield next week. If you can get a draw, brilliant. If you can get a win, amazing, even better.
But we’re good enough to win if we play well on the day, we really are. We can win there. But you take a draw all day long, as in the game when it’s two-legged knock-out football.
Even if you lose by one goal, it’s not ideal, but Anfield on its night can turn anything around.
We can win Champions League
To win the best prize, which we have done six times, you have to beat the best. You want it easy, of course you would. But last year, we thought we had it easy with Atalanta. We thought we had a clear run to the final but didn’t. That was a kick in the nuts.
We maybe didn’t know their strengths and took it for granted, but we know how strong PSG and all these sides left in the Champions League are.
I love winning the Champions League. It’s a brilliant cup. Six times. We can boast and brag about being the biggest team in Britain to do it. All the players love it. We’ve got to go for it again.
I think we can win all three trophies this season. I’m not saying we will, but I think we can, definitely. They are perfectly capable, but things happen. Like against Atalanta last year. You can’t take anything for granted.
