Dortmund 2-0 PSV (agg. 3-1): Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus seal Champions League quarter-final spot
Jadon Sancho and Marco Reus both scored as Borussia Dortmund held on to beat PSV and secure a Champions League quarter-final spot.
It is BVB’s first last-eight berth in three seasons and one which was hard-earned with their Dutch opponents guilty of missing a host of chances in a tense second leg.
Sancho, on loan from Manchester United, threaded his shot through the legs of an Eindhoven player and in off the post to open the scoring with his second goal in as many matches.
Eindhoven, who last reached the quarter-finals in 2007, improved after the break and substitute Hirving Lozano rattled the post with a missile from the edge of the box.
Johan Bakayoko then dribbled past defender Mats Hummels but could not beat Dortmund keeper Gregor Kobel in the 70th minute.
Dortmund had an effort by Niclas Fuellkrug ruled offside but Reus did better in stoppage time after Luuk de Jong had missed a glorious chance in the fifth minute of added time, leaning back to blaze over with the goal gaping.
