Douglas Luiz Aston Villa return decision confirmed as Juventus release update
Douglas Luiz has not been included in Juventus' travelling squad to face Aston Villa in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
The midfielder has been dealing with injury for the last month and hasn't featured in Juve's last seven matches. He joined the Italian giants from Villa in June in a deal worth £42m.
It was a necessary piece of business for Villa, who were hours away from a big point deduction if they failed to raise money to comply with the Premier League's Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

Dusan Vlahovic has also been left out of the Juve squad as he hasn't overcome an injury suffered on international duty with Serbia earlier this month. Weston McKennie, meanwhile, is also absent from the travelling squad as the USMNT star is suffering with muscle fatigue.
Juventus sit two points behind Villa in the league phase table after winning two, drawing one and losing one of their first matches.
Thiago Motta was appointed in the summer following the sacking of Massimo Allegri. The Bianconeri are the only unbeaten side left in Serie A after 13 games; they drew 0-0 at AC Milan on Saturday.
Juve also have the best defensive record in Serie A with only seven goals conceded and nine clean sheets.
