Dream Marcus Rashford Manchester United scenario on the table as Aston Villa move close
Marcus Rashford's January transfer saga at Manchester United looks set to finally end.
Barcelona, Borussia Dortmund, Juventus, and Tottenham Hotspur have been just some of the clubs linked with United's academy graduate, who has fallen out of favour under Ruben Amorim. But a loan move to Aston Villa now looks set to happen before Monday's transfer deadline.
It means Rashford will get the game time he desperately needs having not played since the Reds' 2-1 win over Viktoria Plzen on December 12. And it could also benefit United in several ways with Amorim looking to reshape a dysfunctional squad of players in the summer.

Rashford's move to Unai Emery's team will allow him to showcase his talents on the biggest stage in Europe with Villa through to the Champions League last 16. If the 27-year-old does have his heart set on Barcelona, he won't get a better opportunity to show why he belongs at the Nou Camp.
Performing at a consistently high level will only benefit the Reds if they look to move him on in the summer. United's PSR constraints have been well documented, and Rashford's homegrown status represents pure profit to allow them more wriggle room with signings.
Moving on a player who does not fit into Amorim's plans and is seeking a new challenge would be a win-win for United. Of course, there may be concerns that he could come back to haunt them if he joins Villa Park on a permanent deal in the summer.
But the priority at this stage is to move Rashford on and get a healthy sum for him. It's a shame that his time at United looks set to end in disappointment. However, there is still a chance for both club and player to benefit from this move.
