Duo recalled and defensive decision made - Manchester United predicted XI vs Liverpool FC
Manchester United will be hoping to end a four-game losing run when they face Premier League table-toppers Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday afternoon.
United suffered a third league defeat on the bounce without scoring on Monday night, losing 2-0 to Newcastle United at Old Trafford. The Magpies wrapped the game up with less than 20 minutes played via goals from Alexander Isak and Joelinton.
That defeat, ahead of this weekend's action, has left United just seven points above the relegation zone. The gap could be reduced to four points by the time Sunday's Anfield encounter kicks off at 4.30pm.

Accepting that relegation is becoming an increasingly realistic threat, United head coach Ruben Amorim knows results must improve. Liverpool, however, have won each of their last four outings, scoring 16 goals in the process.
Despite United's worsening form, Andre Onana is expected to start in goal and maintain his record of starting every Premier League fixture since arriving from Inter Milan in July 2023. He recorded a clean sheet on his last visit to Anfield and will be determined to add another one to his collection.
Amid United's chaotic fixture schedule, Amorim has regularly chopped and changed his defensive line. However, he could stick with the same back-three that started against Newcastle.
Amorim outlined the need for experienced players to step up and show their leadership qualities during Friday's press conference, meaning Harry Maguire, who is set to have his Old Trafford stay extended by a further year, could start alongside Matthijs de Ligt and Lisandro Martinez again, leaving Leny Yoro to start on the bench for the second game running.
Amorim has persisted with Amad as the right-sided No.10 in recent weeks. Noussair Mazraoui could start as the right-sided wing-back, with Diogo Dalot lining up on the left.
In the centre of midfield Amorim will be able to call upon Manuel Ugarte once again after he served a one-match suspension against Newcastle. Kobbie Mainoo offered United more thrust after coming off the bench against the Magpies and may start next to him in midfield.
In attack, Amad can join forces with Rasmus Hojlund and Bruno Fernandes. The latter is also back after serving a suspension against Eddie Howe's team.
United predicted line-up vs Liverpool: Onana; De Ligt, Maguire, Martinez; Mazraoui, Ugarte, Mainoo, Dalot; Amad, Hojlund, Fernandes.
