Dusan Vlahovic has already told Manchester United his best position amid links of a potential transfer to Old Trafford.

United have been credited with an interest in signing the Juventus striker in recent weeks. With the January transfer window now open, the Reds now have the opportunity to strengthen Ruben Amorim's squad for the second half of the season.

A report from talkSPORT recently claimed that Juventus had approached United about the possibility of signing Joshua Zirkzee. It was reported that the Serie A giants were interested in a swap deal to sign Zirkzee that would have seen Vlahovic move in the other direction to Old Trafford.

Vlahovic has scored 12 goals in 23 appearances for Juve this season and has just 18 months left to run on his contract with the Serie A giants. It was earlier in the season that he explained what tactics best suit his style of play, which could end up being a message to Amorim and Co. if the interest from United turns out to be genuine.

Vlahovic was speaking after starring for Serbia during the November international break, where head coach Dragan Stojkovic partnered him alongside former Fulham striker Aleksandar Mitrovic.

"Yes I like to play with another striker on the side. I get on well, but it also depends on the coach," Vlahovic said in an interview with RSI in November, via Calciomercato.

"Definitely, it is a bit easier because [Aleksandar] Mitrovic is a strong player who plays a lot with his back to goal and engaging in aerial duels and I can exploit my qualities.

"It's also because coach Dragan Stojkovic didn't force me to do so many defensive tasks. And for a player like me, for my frame... honestly I can't run so much. Because then I am not fresh in the final third."
