Philadelphia Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio put on a clinic during Sunday night's Super Bowl, as his defense smothered Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes for four quarters.

Fangio is one of the NFL's elder statesmen, as his NFL coaching career goes all the way back to the 1980s when he was a linebackers coach for the New Orleans Saints from 1986-1994.

His first defensive coordinator stint came with the Carolina Panthers from 1995-98, and NFL Network's Peter Schrager shared a photo of Fangio from his days in Charlotte roughly three decades ago in 1995.

In the photo, Fangio bears an uncanny resemblance to legendary actor John Cazale, best known for playing Fredo Corleone in the first two Godfather films.

See for yourself below, first with a photo of Fangio and second with a few photos of Cazale.

Cazale had one of the most impressive runs from any actor in any generation, starring in The Godfather, The Conversation, The Godfather Part II, Dog Day Afternoon and The Deer Hunter in succession of each other during the 1970s. His untimely death in 1978 from lung cancer cut an incredible career tragically short.

All five of Cazale's films were nominated for Best Picture, cementing him as one of the most accomplished actors ever in such a short amount of time.

When we look at this photo of Fangio from the 1990s, we feel like we're looking right at Cazale. What a fascinating little wrinkle for Schrager to dig up to add to all of the Eagles Super Bowl celebrations.
