East Kilbride Pool League crown cup champions
The Entertainers are celebrating after edging Club 72 in the final of the EK Pool League Cup in a dramatic play-off.
In an epic clash that could have swung either way, Club 72 went 2-0 up with a reverse dish from Ian ‘8-ball’ McColl and a big finish from Stu Robertson, before Entertainers captain Grant McNairn produced a positional perfect dish of his own to bring a frame back.
Sergio Facchini and Colin Philip won tight frames before a great doubles finish from the team put Entertainers 4-2 up.

A golden opportunity was spurned for 5-2 and Stu stroked home an easy black for 4-3.
The ‘8-ball’ lived up to his name with a positional perfect one-visit finish, before a slice of luck saw an impressive Chris Bryden frame over the line for a 5-4 Club lead.
Gary Kelly won a tight tenth, before a comeback win saw Colin put the Entertainers on the brink.
Ever the man for pressure, Lee Miller had to win to keep the Club alive. He was majorly up against it but he dug in brilliantly and edged over the line.
So play-off it was, and the obvious match-up between Ian ‘8-ball’ McColl and Colin Philip.
Ian attacked the table and broke down, allowing Colin back in and he made no mistake to secure the cup for the Entertainers.
It was a great spectacle and everyone congratulated The Entertainers on a job well done.
Meanwhile, in the Consolation Cup, The Mercenaries added a new trophy to captain Stevie Kelly’s legendary haul with a 7-2 win over the Haciendas.
