JOE WILLOCK has been promoted to Newcastle United's starting side for this evening's Carabao Cup semi-final first leg at Arsenal.

Willock comes into the side in place of Bruno Guimaraes, who is unavailable because of suspension.

The former Arsenal midfielder has got the nod to start ahead of both Sean Longstaff and Lewis Miley, who are on the substitutes' bench.

Sven Botman retains his place at the heart of the back four, having ended an injury lay-off of almost ten months when he played against Tottenham at the weekend.

Botman partners Dan Burn at the heart of the back four, with Tino Livramento retaining his place at right-back ahead of Kieran Trippier.

Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta has made five changes to his starting line-up, with Jurrien Timber, Martin Odegaard, Kai Havertz and Gabriel Martinelli all returning to the starting side.

Myles Lewis-Skelly will start at left-back for the Gunners, with Riccardo Calafiori dropping out of the side that started the weekend draw with Brighton.
