Elon Musk Liverpool takeover stance revealed amid Arsenal Premier League title race
X and Tesla owner Elon Musk is interested in purchasing Liverpool from their American owners FSG.
According to his father Errol Musk, the billionaire is keen to purchase the Reds as he looks to increase his influence across the world stage. Speaking to Times Radio, Musk's father said: "I can’t comment on that, they’ll raise the price.
"Oh yes, [he has expressed a desire], but that doesn’t mean he’s buying it. He would like to yes, obviously.

"Anybody would want to – so would I! His grandmother was born in Liverpool, and we have relatives in Liverpool, and we were fortunate to know quite a lot of the Beatles because they grew up with some of my family.
"So, we are attached to Liverpool you know…" As mentioned Musk holds a connection to Merseyside and the city of Liverpool.
His paternal grandmother Cora Robinson was born in Liverpool and according to his dad, his son spent family holidays in the city as a child. In an interview with the Mirror in 2022, Musk's father said: "The first time I took Elon to England was when he was six-years-old. He loved going to Wimbledon.
"He also loved going to the fruit fields in the summer and picking strawberries." On one trip to Liverpool, Errol explained that Musk had wandered off from a playground in Wirral which sparked a huge police search.
He was eventually relocated ten miles away from the playground safe and sound. On the off chance that Musk buying Liverpool is genuine, Arsenal and other clubs may find it difficult to compete with his wealth in the transfer market.
Much of the Premier League including Arsenal and Chelsea are owned by Americans. There has also been a push from celebrities to get involved in the English football pyramid with Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney investing in Wrexham.
Musk has also previously joked about his intent to purchase a Premier League club. When asked about his political leaning, the tech entrepreneur claimed he supported the left of the Republican Party and the right of the Democrat Party before adding in a follow up tweet: "Also, I’m buying Manchester United you are welcome."
When asked if he was serious, Musk replied: "No, this is a long-running joke on Twitter. I’m not buying any sports teams.
"Although, if it were any team, it would be Man United. They were my favourite team as a kid."
