Celtic have been told exactly what they must do to land target David Strelec as a signing rival forced Slovan Bratislava to go public.

Record Sport revealed the £8 million-rated forward is on the Premiership champions' radar alongside long-term target Mathias Kvistgaarden. And Celtic have been aided after Middlesbrough were told by Bratislava chief Robert Vittek they want top money for the free-scoring striker who has bagged himself 15 goals in all competitions this season.

Vittek – speaking to STVR – said: "Middlesbrough sent an official offer. We reflected that it is small. We haven't exactly defined the number, but I can say for us that the amount must be in the range of 8-10 million euros. David is at a great age, he is in the national team, he confirmed his high form during the fall, and we also want to benefit from that. The current situation is that unless it is an amount that we will accept, we will not let him go."

Meanwhile, Luis Palma received a welcomed bonus when he touched down in Athens last night as Oympiacos rewarded boss Jose Luis Mendilibar with a new contract. The Celtic outcast is viewed as a key winter arrival in Piraeus and will pen his loan deal with an option for permanent £3.3m buy option for the summer. His new boss will remain in charge of Oympiacos until at least the summer of 2026 and is believed to be an admirer of the Honduras international.

And back to the aforementioned Kvistgaarden as resolute Brondby remain hell-bent on keeping hold of their talismanic striker. Celtic are long-term admirers but the Danes crave a record-breaking transfer fee for the 22-year-old. And his future will be ironed out over the weekend with Brondby staging an open training session in Faro ahead of their next Atlantic Cup group clash with Varnamo on Tuesday. It's now or never on the striker who sits atop the wanted list of supporters
