Philippe Clement has already admitted Rangers need more players if they are kick on in the second half of the season.

So far, however, Clement has made just one January addition after signing defender Rafael Fernandes on loan from Lille. But with the transfer deadline set to slam shut at 11pm on Monday night the Ibrox gaffer said he’d like to see more new arrivals following their Europa League progress and a top eight finish.

There could also be outgoings though - with the exits of fringe men Kieran Dowell and Rabbi Matondo removing around £50,000 a week from the Ibrox wage bill after moving on loan to Birmingham and Hannover 96 respectively. More could be on the way with Tom Lawrence's contract ticking down. But what is the next move for Rangers? Record Sport takes a look.

Aaron Anselmino

Rangers are reportedly lining up a loan move for Chelsea defender Aaron Anselmino. The Argentine youngster only joined the Premier League giants last year but is seen as one for the future at Stamford Bridge, with the player recalled from his loan spell back in his homeland with former club Boca Juniors.

Clement is in need of defensive reinforcements amid his team's crippling injury crisis and The Scottish Sun report that Anselmino is on their radar. They note that they will face competition from Sheffield Wednesday and Marseille.

Cyriel Dessers

With the transfer window in Italy set to close on Februrary 2, both Empoli and Cagliari are said to be ready to test Rangers resolve to keep Cyriel Dessers this month. Rai News report that the frontman is the "favourite" target for the club but is not "of an economic profile" they can afford on a permanent deal this month and would be eyeing a loan.

Zak Lovelace

Zak Lovelace is reportedly inching closer to a return to Millwall. The 19-year-old swapped the Den for Ibrox in 2022 but reports down south claim that he is on the verge of sealing a return to the English Championship side.

Southwark News claim that Alex Neill's side are set to be active in the final two days of the winter window and that a return for the club's 'second youngest ever player' is on the cards with his Ibrox contract ticking down.

Ianis Hagi

Rangers resolve could also be tested over if they wish to keep Ianis Hagi. As it stands, the playmaker will be out of contract in the summer with reports in Italy suggesting a late bid from Genoa could be on the cards with a late £4m bid.

Former Romanian playmaker Adrian Mutu tipped his fellow contryman for the move, telling Pro Sport: “I believe Ianis Hagi would quickly establish himself at Genoa if he agreed on his personal terms and they could reach a transfer fee deal with Rangers. He has the qualities needed to play at that level - I think he just needs to raise his confidence levels.

“Ianis is a valuable player. What does he need? Confidence and continuity in development, I think that's what Ianis needs at the moment.”

Bobby Clark

Salzburg’s Bobby Clark is reportedly wanted by Rangers before the deadline - and the club are not alone. The Daily Mail state that Hull City and Swansea City are also pushing for a loan deal.

Red Bull Salzburg's sports director Rouven Schroder has left the door open for a deal telling Krone Zeitung: "Players who got less playing time in the autumn are now looking to get a new chance. No player is indispensable."
