England return to the LNER Community Stadium for Six Nations open training session
THE England Men’s rugby squad are returning to York.
It has been confirmed that the England Men’s rugby squad will return to the LNER Community Stadium for an open training session, taking place on Friday, February 28.
The sessions falls in the second fallow week of the 2025 Guinness Six Nations, and will be held at the home of York City and York RLFC.
Tickets are available for free, however a £1 booking fee applies per ticket, which can be found HERE.
It will be the second time that the England Men’s rugby squad will make the trip to the LNER Community Stadium, an event which previously sold out.
Steve Borthwick’s side will be preparing for the Round Four clash with Italy at the Allianz Stadium, with the LNER Community Stadium also set host six matches during the upcoming 2025 Rugby World Cup.
Speaking on their return to York, Borthwick commented: “We really enjoyed our time in York last year, and it made sense to go back again to continue preparations for the last two rounds of the Six Nations.
“The welcome we received at the LNER Community Stadium was brilliant, and we’re excited to do it all over again.
“The buzz around York to host matches for the 2025 World Cup is clear to see and I’m sure it will be a superb host city.”
England Men’s captain Maro Itoje added: “The players can’t wait to get back to York and see everyone at the open training session.
“Last time, even though the weather was unpredictable, the atmosphere was incredible.
“It will be an important week of preparation, but it will be great to share what we do in our training sessions with the public.”
The York Stadium Management Company have confirmed that group bookings for ten people or more, as well as dedicated accessibility bays and seating, can be arranged via the ticket office directly.
The ticket office is open every day inside of the LNER Community Stadium atrium, from 10am to 5pm on Monday’s to Friday’s, and then from 10am to 2pm on Saturday’s and Sunday’s.
