Why England striker Jamie Vardy and wife Rebekah are struggling to have sex at the World Cup
Rebekah Vardy has confirmed Gareth Southgate hasn’t banned England players from having sex at the World Cup – but has revealed she and husband Jamie are yet to be intimate in Russia.
England were reportedly banned from romping in South Africa in 2010 under Fabio Capello’s strict regime but things are far more relaxed under the leadership of Southgate.
There are varying reports of whether sex sessions the night before a game can have an adverse effect on performance on the field.
But Rebekah has admitted the pair are finding it impossible to hook up during the tournament – even with the permission of the England manager.

“Jamie and I FaceTime at least once a day and we’ve been really lucky with how much we’ve been able to see him,” she told OK magazine.
“Gareth Southgate has been amazing with allowing the families and players lots of contact.
“There is no sex ban, but I think we’d struggle to do it anyway with the kids around – it wouldn’t work logistically!”
Rebekah, who is out in Russia with three-year-old Sofia and Finley, just 17 months, as well has two children from her previous relationships – Megan, 13, and Taylor, eight.

She has been dubbed ‘Queen of the Wags’ by several news outlets but denies embracing the role once occupied by Victoria Beckham.

“I read that I’d been referred to as the ‘queen of the wives and girlfriends’, which made me cringe,” she added.
“I don’t see myself that way and there is no queen or anyone in charge – we are all our own people with our own identities.”
