England U21 XI vs Portugal: Starting lineup, confirmed team news and injury latest for Euro 2023 today
Anthony Gordon returns for England today as they face Portugal in the quarter-finals of the European Under-21 Championship, but Emile Smith Rowe is on the bench.
Eight changes were made last time out, as the Young Lions beat Germany with qualification already secured, but a return to the kind of lineup seen earlier in the tournament against the Czech Republic and Israel was expected tonight. Lee Carsley ends up naming the same team that started against the Czechs.
Aston Villa forward Cameron Archer scored against Germany when leading the line but drops back to the bench as Gordon returns.

Morgan Gibbs-White is also back, along with Max Aarons and Angel Gomes.
Levi Colwill and Taylor Harwood-Bellis will come in at centre-back after being rested, with James Garner also doing enough to return after strong displays at the start of the tournament.
Chelsea’s Noni Madueke keeps his place, but Harvey Elliott is unavailable after his brilliant individual goal against Germany due to a pre-planned family engagement. Liverpool team-mate Curtis Jones does start, while Manchester City midfielder Tommy Doyle is on the bench despite a knee problem.
England XI: Trafford, Aarons, Harwood-Bellis, Colwill, Gibbs-White, Ramsey, Gordon, Garner, Jones, Gomes, Madueke
