England vs Brazil LIVE! Friendly result, match stream, latest updates today
An injury-hit Brazil beat England 1-0 in coach Dorival Junior’s first match in charge as 17-year-old substitute Endrick scored the 80th-minute winner in a friendly at Wembley on Saturday. Endrick, who is due to join Real Madrid in July from Palmeiras, tapped into an empty net after England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford could only parry a shot from Vinicius Jr. on the break.
The South Americans, who have struggled in their World Cup qualifiers and gave debuts to five players in their starting 11, had a good chance when Lucas Paqueta hit the post in the 35th minute. England, also missing key players through injury including captain Harry Kane, barely tested Bento who was making his first appearance for Brazil in goal, despite coach Gareth Southgate opting for an attack-minded line-up.
England continue their preparations for Euro 2024 on Tuesday when they host Belgium in a friendly at Wembley while Brazil face Spain in Madrid the same day. Full-time!
20:56 , Alex Young
94min: Enough time for Endrick to be denied a second goal! He is the youngest ever goalscorer in this stadium’s history.
20:50 , Alex Young
91min: Four minutes added on.
20:48 , Alex Young
85min: England are pushing but this half has been far less impressive than the first.
GOAL!
20:42 , Alex Young
80min: Endrick gives Brazil the lead! A ball through the middle sets Vinicius through, his shot is saved and the 17-year-old tucks home into an empty net!
20:35 , Alex Young
75min: Now it’s time for Mainoo’s debut! Gallagher makes way as Rashford replaces Gordon.
20:31 , Alex Young
71min: Pereira and Endrick are on for Brazil, replacing Rodrygo and Paqueta.
20:30 , Alex Young
70min: Gallagher hits the deck inside the area but it does look a bit weak. Referee waves the protests away.
20:27 , Alex Young
67min: All three are coming on! Bellingham, Chilwell and Maguire make way.
20:25 , Alex Young
65min: But it looks like Gomez and Dunk will be introduced first.

Paper aeroplanes are starting to float down from the upper tiers in numbers -- a solid Wembley tradition. It's been a reasonably entertaining game, at least by the standard of England friendlies, but after an hour fans are impatient for goals.
20:20 , Alex Young
60min: Stones the latest England player to try his luck from distance. It’s still yet to click in the final third for the hosts.
20:17 , Alex Young
57min: Better from Chilwell to block Raphinha’s goal-bound effort. Bit of a tamer start to this second half from Brazil until now.
Dan Kilpatrick at Wembley
20:16 , Alex Young
Perhaps it is unfair to say England's defence is creaking while it remains 0-0 but Maguire, Konsa and Chilwell have all had hairy moments out there and really England have wasteful finishing from Rodrygo and Vinicius to thank for still being level.
20:11 , Alex Young
51min: Bellingham fouled again by Gomes. How he hasn’t been booked is beyond me.
20:09 , Alex Young
49min: England straight back on the attack with another corner, that Brazil clear at the second attempt.
20:06 , Alex Young
46min: Back underway. No changes.
20:04 , Alex Young
Brazil are keeping England waiting before the start of the second half.
Malik Ouzia at Wembley
20:02 , Alex Young
If this isn't a friendly, Lucas Paqueta's off before half-time. England's players are calling for the same thing, as is Gareth Southgate.
Is playing 50-odd minutes against ten men really ideal when you're preparing for a tournament, though?
19:57 , Alex Young
It's been end-to-end, with Paqueta coming closest when hitting the post.Bellingham is being targeted by the visitors and Gordon has looked lively.
Half-time!
19:49 , Alex Young
48min: That’s your lot for the first half.
19:47 , Alex Young
46min: Two minutes added on.
19:46 , Alex Young
45min: Two corners. The first sees Foden denied on the again and the second Brazil clear quite easily.
19:46 , Alex Young
44min: Free kick comes in... and Raphinha gives away a corner.
19:45 , Alex Young
43min: Bellingham fouled again, this time it’s Bruno Guimaraes.
19:44 , Alex Young
42min: Maguire is struggling a tad. Almost plays in Raphinha, who pokes a shot wide. That’s a let off.
19:43 , Alex Young
41min: Konsa is penalised as Vini Jnr goes to ground near the touchline. Again, not the friendliest of friendlies.
19:42 , Alex Young
40min: Paqueta is walking a tightrope! He’s been booked and has just fouled Bellingham from behind.
Last chance saloon, you’d think.
19:39 , Alex Young
37min: Up the other end, it’s another block from a Brazilian defender and another corner for England. They play it short this time before Foden fires a tame effort at Bento in goal.
POST!
19:37 , Alex Young
35min: Seconds after being booked, the midfielder is found in space just inside the area and curls a shot off the upright!
So close.
19:36 , Alex Young
34min: Paqueta is the second man into the book after a number of fouls himself. Gomes won’t be far off at his rate.
Dom Smith at Wembley
19:35 , Alex Young
Ollie Watkins might be playing in Harry Kane's position but he's a very different type of No9 and it's good to see England playing to his strengths, rather than asking him to fill the Kane role exactly.
Twice in the last few minutes they've found him running in behind in that left channel and made decent openings.
19:34 , Alex Young
32min: Nice flowing move from England through Gordon, Watkins and then to Bellingham inside the area, but his shot is blocked by a defender.
19:32 , Alex Young
30min: Gomes concedes another foul and Bellingham rightly asks why he has not yet been booked.
19:30 , Alex Young
28min: England come straight back and Gordon tries to find the far bottom corner but his shot is deflected behind for a corner.
Foden takes, finds Watkins at the far post... and again it drops to Chilwell to blast wide.
19:29 , Alex Young
27min: Foden goes down rather dramatically in the area, but the referee isn’t interested. Looks like he made a meal of it and is soon back up on his feet.
19:26 , Alex Young
25min: Foden’s corner is cleared as far as Chilwell, who volleys the ball out of the stadium.
19:26 , Alex Young
24min: Chilwell floats towards Maguire at the back post, but Danilo is there to put behind for a corner.
19:24 , Alex Young
23min: It’s not the friendliest of friendlies as Paqueta goes in late on Gordon.
Malik Ouzia
19:23 , Alex Young
Interesting that Gareth Southgate has turned to Ezri Konsa ahead of Joe Gomez there.
19:22 , Alex Young
20min: Walker cannot continue after that earlier possible hamstring tweak. He has been replaced by debutant Konsa.
CHANCE!
19:20 , Alex Young
18min: Watkins should score! It’s pinball inside the area and the ball doesn’t quite sit for the Aston Villa striker, who fires over from eight yards.
19:18 , Alex Young
17min: Hmm, did Walker get away with one there? Vinicius Jr collapses to the pitch inside the area but it does look weak.
19:17 , Alex Young
16min: Walker is back on.
19:17 , Alex Young
15min: Slight concern for England (and Man City) as Walker is on the deck after pulling up. Did he tweak his hamstring well racing back to deny that goal?
He going to try to continue I think.
19:16 , Alex Young
13min: Bellingham is booked for a clumsy and very late challenge.
OFF THE LINE!
19:15 , Alex Young
12min: Walker gets the better of Vinicius Jnr once again, racing back to stop the opening goal after the forward runs through and beats Pickford.
It was a weak shot by Vini Jnr, it has to be said.
Malik Ouzia at Wembley
19:12 , Alex Young
Considering it's a new-look front-three for England, their press has looked well co-ordinated in these early exchanges. Plenty of possession for Brazil at the back but they've not managed to play through the lines.
19:11 , Alex Young
9min: First shot on target does fall to Brazil, though, as Rodrygo is freed by Raphinha for a pop at goal from the edge of the area. No trouble for Pickford.
19:09 , Alex Young
7min: Not much from Brazil in these opening minutes, England pressing well.
Dan Kilpatrick at Wembley
19:08 , Alex Young
A lively start by Conor Gallagher, who has already won two free-kicks in the same position on the right. The Chelsea man is looking to make his case as England's third man in midfield.
19:08 , Alex Young
6min: It is Chilwell, but Maguire is offside this time so the flag is raised.
19:07 , Alex Young
5min: Gallagher again fouled to win a free kick in a very similar position. Chilwell fancies this...
19:05 , Alex Young
3min: First chance for England as Foden flashes a free kick delivery just wide of the far post. Maguire rising to meet it but couldn’t connect.
Kick-off!
19:02 , Alex Young
1min: Here we go!
19:02 , Alex Young
Ahead of kick-off, there is a minute's applause to remember former England manager Terry Venables, who passed away last November.
18:55 , Alex Young
Here come the teams, all ready for the national anthems.
18:52 , Alex Young
Not long now. I am very intrigued to see how this Brazil defence holds up against this England attack.
Plus, up the other end, Vini Jr against Walker again!
Southgate on that England kit controversy to Channel 4
18:45 , Alex Young
"I have not tracked it closely.I understand it has been in the media, but look I spoke at length about it yesterday. The most important thing on the England shirt is the Three Lions.
"At times we have had the St George's flag and at times we haven't. In my head you cannot change the St George's flag.
"So, anything else is artistic but it has been a long way away from my concentration.”
Southgate on Gordon to Channel 4
18:38 , Alex Young
“[I’ve asked him to do] what he has done for his club all season. He does not have to do anything different to that.
"He has been exciting with the ball and has trained well all week, he looks like he has been with us forever."
Malik Ouzia at Wembley
18:34 , Alex Young
A while out, Gareth Southgate had the fixture pencilled as one to test his best XI. Injuries have conspired against him in that regard so it's a bit of a half-and-half side.
Seven players who are pretty likely to start the first game of the Euros, four - Gallagher, Gordon, Chilwell and Watkins - who are still battling just to make the squad.
18:27 , Alex Young
So, Gordon will make his England debut tonight as expected. Watkins starts in place of the injured Kane and Walker is the captain.Brazil hand out FIVE debuts, including three of the back four and the goalkeeper as they look to end a run of three straight defeats.
Plenty of familiar faces start, including Bruno Guimaraes, Lucas Paqueta, Raphinha, Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo.

Venables tributes
17:58 , Alex Young
The FA have planned tributes to former England manager Terry Venables tonight, including appearances by Paul Gascoigne and Alan Shearer.
Tonight is the first home game to take place at Wembley since Venables passed away at the age of 80 last November.
Every member of the Euro 96 squad, which Venables led to the semi-finals, have been invited.
Here’s the matchday programme.
Head to head
17:46 , Alex Young
Frank Lampard’s winner in a 2013 friendly is England’s only victory over Brazil in almost exactly 34 years, with a further four defeats and six draws since including the opening senior game at the new Wembley.
England wins: 4
Brazil wins: 11
Draws: 11
17:41 , Alex Young
It sounds like Anthony Gordon may get the nod to start tonight, while Jude Bellingham is playing no10. Ollie Watkins starts in place of Harry Kane.
Southgate on Man Utd links
17:31 , Alex Young
Gareth Southgate said reports linking him with the manager job at Manchester United were completely disrespectful and that he would only make a decision about his future after the European Championship.
Southgate is yet to agree a new deal ahead of the Euros, which will be his fourth major competition in charge of England. His current contract runs through to the end of 2024.
"My focus is the European Championship," Southgate told reporters on Friday ahead of England's friendly against Brazil.
"If we did something, a contract here (with England) before, everybody would be saying, 'Why are you signing a contract before a Euros where you've got to prove yourself?'
"I'm certainly not going to speak to anybody else ahead of that. I never have. I've been here eight years in the job. I wouldn't entertain speaking to anybody else when I'm in a job."
Southgate on England kit flag-gate
17:20 , Alex Young
Gareth Southgate says the Three Lions crest was the most important part of the national team's shirt as the Football Association faced criticism of the latest kit from Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and Labour leader Sir Keir Starmer.
The shirt's manufacturer Nike has altered the appearance of the St George's Cross using purple and blue horizontal stripes in what it called a "playful update" to the shirt ahead of Euro 2024.
Sunak warned Nike "should not mess" with the flag, while Starmer urged Nike to "reconsider" the design.
Southgate, though, was more interested in the iconography surrounding the traditional Three Lions badge than the "artistic take" on the St George's Cross.
He said: "It's not been high on my list of priorities, but that depends which bit it is (causing the controversy), because I don't know if the debate is about the St George flag needing to be on the England shirt, because obviously it hasn't always been.
"I think the most important thing that has to be on an England shirt is the Three Lions, it's our iconic symbol, it is what distinguishes us, not only from football teams around the world but from England rugby and England cricket.
"It's the thing that, when I put my shirt on at Burnham Beeches 30 years ago, I looked in the mirror - and I clearly don't look at my face too often when I do that - but the Three Lions really stood out.
"So I suppose what you're really asking is, should we be tampering with the Cross of St George?
"But in my head, if it's not a red cross on a white background, it isn't the Cross of St George anyway, so it is a hard question to answer really, because it is presumably some artistic take, which I am not creative enough to understand."
Score prediction
17:11 , Alex Young
Friendly games are hard to predict as the result is, ultimately, not all that significant. Still, the Three Lions are rightly favourites to beat a new-look Brazil team on a difficult run of form.
England to win, 2-0.
Brazil team news
16:57 , Alex Young
Brazil are without Neymar, Casemiro, Gabriel Martinelli, Gabriel Magalhaes, Alisson Becker, Ederson and Marquinhos due to injury.
Therefore a debutant will certainly start in goal with Bento, Rafael and Leo Jardim all uncapped. Juventus duo Danilo and Gleison Bremer are the only defenders with any serious level of international experience in the squad after the withdrawal of Arsenal’s Gabriel.
Vinicius Jr, Real Madrid team-mate Rodrygo and Tottenham’s Richarlison will be tasked with providing the firepower but teenage sensation Endrick could look to make an impact if handed his third cap as he searches for his first Brazil goal.
England team news
16:44 , Alex Young
England will be without both Harry Kane and Bukayo Saka tonight, with Jordan Henderson and Cole Palmer also sidelined.
Kane's rare absence with an ankle injury picked up playing for Bayern Munich gives Three Lions boss Gareth Southgate the opportunity to ramp up auditions to be the captain's understudy at this summer's European Championship, with Ollie Watkins and Ivan Toney jostling to start up front.
Toney is arguably more of a like-for-like replacement for Kane but only Erling Haaland has scored more top-flight goals than Watkins' 16 so far this season, and the Aston Villa forward is probably ahead in the pecking order to face the Brazilians.
In-form Phil Foden is likely to start, with Marcus Rashford, Jarrod Bowen, Anthony Gordon and James Maddison competing for the other place in the front line. Chelsea’s Palmer is also set to miss out, having missed training at the start of the week.
With no Henderson and Kalvin Phillips not in the squad, Conor Gallagher and Kobbie Mainoo are in contention for starts as the third man in midfield.
Ben Chilwell is expected to come in at left-back, with Luke Shaw and Kieran Trippier both missing out on the squad through injury.
Regulars Jordan Pickford, Kyle Walker, John Stones, Harry Maguire, Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham are all shoo-ins to feature.
