ENZO Le Fee is ready to feature immediately for Sunderland and is in contention to make his debut at Burnley on Friday night.

The midfielder was introduced to Sunderland's supporters at the Stadium of Light ahead of the FA Cup third round defeat to Stoke City after completing his move on Friday night.

Although Le Fee hasn't played as much football as he'd have liked in the first half of the season at Roma, he's fully fit and, crucially, knows exactly what Le Bris will want from him having previously played for Sunderland's head coach at Lorient.

Le Fee will train with his new Sunderland teammates for the first time this week and is then expected to be in the squad for the crunch promotion clash with the Clarets on Friday night.

“Yes, probably because he's in good shape and he will need time to connect with the team,” confirmed Le Bris.

"We'll see, we'll build the next steps but I think he's ready to play.”

The arrival of Le Fee, who Roma signed for £20m in the summer, has turned heads, and Le Bris hopes the high profile capture of the midfielder can help ensure the Black Cats land more transfer targets before the end of the January window.

He said: “Maybe, we’ll see. It's a good signal for the club because it shows that Sunderland is attractive and we are playing good football.

“The club is massive and the crowd, the fans and the ambition are very clear. So now it's a question of finding the right people to connect with the project. So we'll see in the future and the next two or three weeks what will happen exactly.”
