ENZO Le Fee is ready to travel to England to complete his move to Sunderland.

Le Fee will make the trip once the Black Cats get the green light on the move from Roma, which is expected shortly.

The midfielder will join on what is initially a loan deal until the end of the season. The move will become permanent in the summer should Sunderland win promotion to the Premier League.

Well placed sources in Italy say a permanent deal could be worth up to £20m, which would be a club record fee for Sunderland.

The capture of Le Fee is a major coup for the Black Cats. Le Fee joined Roma in the summer in deal reportedly worth €23m having previously impressed in France, where he played for Sunderland boss Regis Le Bris earlier in his career.

Le Fee has struggled to establish himself in Italy and doesn't feature in the plans of Roma boss Claudio Ranieri, with his potential January availability having alerted Sunderland, who made an audacious move.

Le Fee and Le Bris have a good relationship, with Sunderland's head coach instrumental in discussions. Le Bris last week confirmed a midfielder was on his January transfer wishlist, with Sunderland also looking to strengthen their attack this month.
