Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca has dropped a major hint over Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall’s future.

Leicester City are said to be interested in bringing the 26-year-old midfielder back to the King Power Stadium when the January transfer window opens, just six months after selling him to Chelsea for £30m. Dewsbury-Hall’s move to Stamford Bridge has not worked out so far as he has made just five substitute appearances for his new club in the Premier League.

Having been a central figure at City, his only starts for Chelsea so far this season have come in the Europa Conference League and Carabao Cup, including Thursday night’s victory over Shamrock Rovers as he scored in a 5-1 win.

Speaking after the match Maresca was asked about the player’s future and he said: "Unfortunately, I cannot say that (he is definitely going to stay), not about Kiernan, about all the squad, because when the transfer window is open, unfortunately, anything can happen.

"So I'm not focused on January, the only thing I can say about Kiernan is that we are very happy in the way he's working, we are very happy about his performance, and this is my thought about Kiernan."
