Enzo Maresca has revealed there has been no conversation between him and Christopher Nkunku over the Frenchman's future at Chelsea.

The 27-year-old is the club's joint-top goal scorer this season, alongside Cole Palmer - netting 13 times in all competitions but has been a bit-part player when it comes to the Premier League. Nkunku has featured 28 times altogether but has made only three starts in the league.

Reports earlier this month claimed Nkunku informed the Blues of his desire to leave, with former club Paris Saint-Germain said to be interested in the attacker, because he was not featuring as regularly as he would like. However, no conversation has been had with the France international and Maresca, the head coach confirmed on Monday morning.

More recently, Bayern Munich have been linked with a move for Nkunku. As reported on Monday evening by football.london, the German giants have a keen interest in the Frenchman with Chelsea looking to sign Mathys Tel from the Allianz Arena.

"No, no," Maresca replied when asked whether Nkunku has expressed his desire to leave the club this month. "We didn't speak about nothing with Christopher.

"But the last time I said that [he will listen if a player tells him they want to leave], it's because in the end, we want all the players, as we said before, to try to be happy; knowing the ones that are not playing, they are not happy. It is normal."

Maresca continued: "I think also in this case, Christopher also wants to play and he wants to be happy. He's 27, probably the oldest one. No matter the age, the players want to play and if they do not play, then they are not happy."

While it appears there is no immediate plan from either side for Nkunku to leave the club during this window, there are other Chelsea players on their way out. Ben Chilwell is one of them, with Maresca confirming the left-back is likely to move on from Stamford Bridge this month, with just one appearance to his name this season for the west Londoners.

Carney Chukwuemeka and Cesare Casadei are also expected to depart SW6. Casadei is the subject of mass interest in Italy and looks set to leave the Blues on a permanent basis, while Chelsea are hopeful Chukwuemeka can do the same.

Chelsea would prefer for Chukwuemeka to leave the club on a permanent deal rather than a loan. However, the Blues will not entertain any offers for the 21-year-old midfielder that are less than his £40million release clause, sources have told football.london.

Renato Veiga could also leave Chelsea in the near future. Despite only moving to the Blues last summer and signing a seven-year contract, the Portugal international is being pursued by Borussia Dortmund.

Talks with Dortmund are well underway, with the German club initially wanting a loan deal for the versatile Portuguese. Chelsea, however, would prefer a permanent move for Veiga and would want north of £20million for his services, football.london understands.
