Erik ten Hag praises 'consistent' Manchester United after late FA Cup win over Nottingham Forest
Erik ten Hag praised his “consistent” Manchester United after they beat Nottingham Forest to edge into the FA Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night.
Casemiro’s late header saw United progress into the final eight and teed up a mouth-watering clash at home to rivals Liverpool next month.
Ten Hag’s side wasted a number of good opportunities in the first half but it proved to be a tight game at the City Ground, decided only by the Brazilian’s header in the dying embers.
Still, the Dutchman was pleased to see his team recover from their stoppage-time loss at home to Fulham and was keen to point out United have lost only once since the turn of the year.
"Every win is important,” he said.
“We take it 24 hours and then we move on.
"Fantastic games coming up. This team, what they showed today, that’s great. They have to show it every game. I’ve seen it the last couple of months, not on Saturday.
"We found the way to win.
"We were consistent. We lost one time in 2024. We are consistent. It’s not so easy when you have the whole backline and we have to shuffle and play players in different positions. I’m very proud we did it."
United next travel to rivals Manchester City in the Premier League on Sunday as they look to make up ground in the race for Champions League qualification.
