Erling Haaland sends one-word message to Dominik Szoboszlai as Liverpool close in on title
Manchester City star Erling Haaland has shown his support to Liverpool rival Dominik Szoboszlai after the Reds extended their lead at the top of the Premier League. Arne Slot's side brushed aside Newcastle United thanks to efforts from the Hungarian and Alexis Mac Allister.
The Reds continued their unbeaten run and moved 13 points clear in the process, while Arsenal slipped up at Nottingham Forest. Szoboszlai carried on his rich vein of goalscoring form after netting the second goal in the win over City on Sunday - which enhanced their title chances after the Gunners failed to beat West Ham United 24 hours earlier.
Praise continues to follow the 24-year-old after a number of superb performances in midfield for Slot's side. In another goalscoring display against the Magpies, he earned himself the Player of the Match award.

In a post to Instagram, Szoboszlai posted a simple message using the skull and wand emojis. It was well received, with Ryan Gravenberch and Luis Diaz sharing their support in the comments.
However, Haaland offered a surprising reaction to his Premier League rival moving a step closer to ending their reign as champions. The Norwegian replied: "Yeaaah."
Despite their rivalry on the pitch, they have remained friends off it after their time together in the Austrian Bundesliga with RB Salzburg.
"We got really close because we were young. Great player, great guy so yeah," Szoboszlai said in 2023. "Yeah, he has a house then two houses between us then it's my house. When I came to sign, it was not official yet, I sent him a picture of a Liverpool shirt and he was like, 'Oh, what's happening?'
"And I said, 'Yeah, we're going to see each other'. And he said, 'Congratulations, the Premier League is crazy."
