Evangelos Marinakis makes 'crucial' decision as Nottingham Forest look to maintain European charge
Nottingham Forest will travel to Dubai today (Sunday) for a warm weather training camp.
The Reds will spend the next week in the United Arab Emirates as they take advantage of a small break in their fixture schedule. The trip will provide a valuable opportunity for head coach Nuno Espirito Santo and his staff to spend an extended period of time with the group.
In addition to the players being put through their paces, team bonding activities will also form an important part of the camp. Nuno places a big emphasis on squad unity, and a tight-knit dressing room has been a key contributor to Forest’s impressive season so far.

“The squad we have built is one with a clear identity and with such togetherness amongst our players and staff,” chief football officer Ross Wilson said. “We look forward to the training camp in Dubai which will allow Nuno and our players, along with our dedicated support staff, the time and undivided focus to continue building on that incredible team bond we have fostered this season.
“Warm weather training within the top class facilities that we have secured, will be hugely beneficial. As always, our owner Evangelos Marinakis is central to everything we have built and we are thankful for his support in funding this crucial camp as we look forward to a very productive week, on and off the pitch.”
The Reds trounced Brighton and Hove Albion 7-0 at the City Ground on Saturday as they returned to winning ways in style. Having been on the wrong end of a 5-0 thumping at Bournemouth a week earlier, Nuno’s men delivered an emphatic response.
Chris Wood scored the second hat-trick of his Forest career while Morgan Gibbs-White, Neco Williams and Jota Silva all got in on the act after Lewis Dunk had set the ball rolling with an own goal. The win moved the Reds level on points with second-placed Arsenal in the Premier League table as they continued their quest to secure European football.
Forest are next in action on Tuesday, February 11, when they are away to Exeter City in the fourth round of the FA Cup. The squad will return to the UK next Saturday in preparation for that tie. Their next league fixture is away to Fulham on Saturday, February 15.
