Evangelos Marinakis makes Nottingham Forest pledge with 'bold ambitions' statement
Owner Evangelos Marinakis has outlined his “bold ambitions” for Nottingham Forest as he vowed the club will continue striving to achieve “greater and greater success”.
The Reds saw in 2025 positioned second in the Premier League table on the back of a five-match winning streak. They hold a five-point cushion over fifth-placed Newcastle United and are six points ahead of sixth-placed Manchester City in the battle to secure European football.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s side will kick off the new year with a trip to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday, January 6 (8pm kick-off). Marinakis is determined that the next 12 months will be just as memorable as the last at the City Ground.
In a message posted on the club’s social media accounts, he said: “I wish the entire Forest Family – our magnificent supporters, our players, our coach, and our staff – a New Year filled with happiness, health and success! In 2024, we made great strides forward in our dream to return Nottingham Forest to the highest echelons of the Premier League and European football.
“We finished the year second in the table, having witnessed some incredible performances, and having been victorious against the very best. We achieved this after hard work, togetherness, and humbleness, on and off the pitch!”
He added: “In 2025, we will keep on winning and keep dreaming of achieving greater and greater success by staying humble and united! All of us will give our best in the year to come – whether that is in the stands, on the pitch, or in the offices - to further progress our bold ambitions for the future of Nottingham Forest!”
In addition to progress made on the pitch, Marinakis has overseen a number of community initiatives since taking over the club in 2017. Most recently, the shipping magnate spearheaded Forest’s “Home For Christmas” campaign which included a food and multibank collection being held at the City Ground.
In his message, Marinakis added: “We also showed in 2024 that we all care deeply about our community, and that this great club can be a true force for good in our society. This is an important part of who we are and what it means to be a proud member of the Forest Family.
“Happy New Year, full of health, success and happiness. Let’s keep dreaming!”
