Everton player ratings as Harrison Armstrong shines but one man poor vs Peterborough
Everton are in the hat for the fourth round of the FA Cup after beating League One Peterborough at Goodison Park. The Toffees eased through 2-0 courtesy of goals from Beto and Iliman Ndiaye, the latter of which was from the penalty spot.
The victory came on the day that Sean Dyche was sacked as Everton manager by the Friedkin Group after a disappointing run of results. Everton favourites Seamus Coleman and Leighton Baines took charge of first team duties for the match.
Here's how the ECHO rated the players after the victory:

Joao Virginia - 6
Came and caught a corner at the start of the second-half, but didn't have a shot to save all night.
Nathan Patterson - 7
Replaced after 70 minutes, but was impressive. When called upon to defend in the second-half he did so, but also offered an attacking threat that the Blues haven't had for large parts of this season.
Michael Keane - 6
Another who did what was required when called upon. Will see the 90 minutes he completed here as a huge step in the right direction after being out injured.
Jarrad Branthwaite - 7
Showed real leadership qualities by, on a number of occasions, urging his side to get up the pitch. Was his usual natural composed self on the ball.
Jake O’Brien - 6
Got better the more the game went on, which is understandable given his lack of game time so far this season.
Vitalii Mykolenko - 5
Almost cost his side a goal in the first-half with a wayward header that was pounced on. However, he did get back and make a great block. But not for the first time in recent weeks, was a tad erratic.
Idrissa Gueye - 7
Dominated the midfield. Broke up numerous Peterborough attacks and looked to play the ball forward. Went close to opening the scoring.
Orel Mangala - 7
Produced a similar performance to team-mate Gueye. Rattled the bar with a great volley in the first-half and is fast emerging as a key player for the Blues.
Harrison Armstrong - 8
A really impressive performance from the youngster. Pressed from the front and caused the Peterborough backline into making mistakes. Deservedly got an assist and looks to have a bright future ahead of him.
Iliman Ndiaye - 6
Not his best night in an Everton shirt. Too often he found himself isolated and drifted in and out of the game. However, his stoppage time penalty did seal his side's place in the next round.
Beto - 7
Managed to get his name on the scoresheet, which should do wonders for his confidence. Full of energy and didn't stop working.
Substitutes
Jack Harrison - 6
Showed one real flash of quality which almost resulted in an opening for his side.
Armando Broja - 5
Picked up what looked to be a nasty injury within 10 minutes of coming on.
Ashely Young - 5
Did what was asked of him.
Jesper Lindstrom - N/A
Replaced Broja for the closing stages.
Abdoulaye Doucoure - N/A
On for Mangala for the closing stages.
