Coventry City fans are beginning to get a bit twitchy as the transfer clock ticks down and still no announcements or confirmation of any new arrivals at the club.

The Sky Blues are reportedly working hard to sign expereinced Swansea City midfielder and captain Matt Grimes, the club understood to have made a third bid for the 29-year-old. The news comes just days after Frank Lampard missed out on Rangers' winger Rabbi Matondo due to the two clubs failing to agree loan terms for the Wales international.

There's been plenty of speculation claiming interest in City's own players, meanwhile, with Blackburn Rovers attempting to sign Liam Kitching and Brandon Thomas-Asante - according to reports in Lancashire - while Premier League Fulham and Turkish side Galatasaray are claimed from several sources to have Milan van Ewijk on their 'radar'.

Lampard, however, has made his stance clear on the matter, insisting that he doesn't want any of his senior players to go out in the January window as he continues to assess his inherited squad ahead of what is expected to be a far busier summer transfer window.

City's Championship rivals, meanwhile, have been fairly active in the current window where, interestingly, former boss Mark Robins has taken Josh Wilson-Esbrand on loan from Man City, having taken him a couple of season's ago to the CBS Arena.
