Every Championship transfer so far in January as Gary Rowett sanctions Stoke City old boy deal
Gary Rowett has sanctioned one striker exit and brought in another as he puts his stamp on the Oxford United squad.
The former Stoke City boss, who has just taken over at Oxford, has let ex-Stoke youth Will Goodwin leave on loan for Wigan Athletic in League One for the rest of the season. The 22-year-old, a boyhood Stoke fan who was mascot at the 2011 FA Cup final, has been recovering from a long-term injury for most of this season.
He helped Oxford win promotion from League One after joining from Cheltenham in January last year and is now hoping to get regular action again - while Rowett puts his faith in Ole Romeny, a 24-year-old forward who joins from Utrecht for an undisclosed fee.

Wigan manager Shaun Maloney said: "Will is another player we have been tracking for some time and I'm delighted he's decided to join us. He already has experience in League One and is the type of character we want in the dressing room.
"He has different attributes to our other forward players and adds a new dynamic to our frontline."
Wigan have already signed three players this month, with defender Josh Robinson also arriving from Arsenal and forward Joe Hungbo joining from FC Nurnberg.
Oxford are currently 17th in the Championship..
Rowett said of Romeny: Even though I’ve only recently arrived at the club, I have had many conversations with the recruitment team about our plans for this January window. Very early in those discussions, Ole’s name was brought to my attention and, having watched a number of his clips, I’m pleased we could move quickly to bring him into the Club.
“He is a very creative forward, who can help both in scoring goals and making chances. He arrives with a wealth of experience at a really good level in the Netherlands and it will be exciting to see what he can deliver.
"I have had a really good opportunity over my first few weeks to assess the squad in training and competitive action, and the recruitment team are working hard to make some additions this month to help us in our ambitions.”
Business hasn't been all that fast elsewhere in the division. Lewis Dobbin, who went to school right next to Stoke's training ground in Trent Vale, has joined Norwich on loan from Aston Villa, having spent the first half of the season on the fringes at West Brom.
"I think he's best when he is on the left and can dribble in and shoot," said Norwich manager Johannes Hoff Thorup. "He can also play as a number nine for us and he's a good runner. He can run in behind."
Bristol City centre-back Rob Atkinson has signed on loan for Portsmouth.
Portsmouth boss John Mousinho said: "Rob is a proven Championship centre-half, who is excellent defensively and very dominant. He can also handle bringing the ball out from the back."
Plymouth defender Lewis Gibson has signed for Preston North End for an undisclosed fee while Plymouth have signed Michael Baidoo from Elfsborg and Queens Park Rangers have brought in former Peterborough prospect Ronnie Edwards on loan from Southampton.
