Chelsea have once more taken up their fair share of column inches this month. Despite a relative lack of tangible transfer activity, the January window has been all noise at Stamford Bridge.

So much so, manager Enzo Maresca said just two weeks in that he felt it had been a disaster. As his team struggle to find form on the field, attention has turned to what the decision-makers are doing to change the club's fortune in the market.

As it turns out, very little. Into the final seven days of the January transfer window and Chelsea have only made two real first-team moves. The recall of Trevoh Chalobah from his loan at Crystal Palace is as big as it has got for the Blues, with his return causing controversy and putting pressure on the sporting directors.

Elsewhere, despite links to Alejandro Garnacho, Kobbie Mainoo, Jamie Gittens, and Marc Guehi, there has been little to shout about at SW6. 2025 promises to be a big year for the club with more plans for the summer but so far, with Maresca in need of changes to his squad, there hasn't been much activity.

On-loan midfielders Andrey Santos and Lesley Ugochukwu have also been on the lips of supporters but they are both seen as being extremely unlikely to come back. It leaves a lot for Moises Caicedo and his fellow midfielders to do.

Finally, there are a host of players queuing up to leave Chelsea. Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Cesare Casadei, Carney Chukwuemeka, Ben Chilwell, and Axel Disasi are all waiting for the green light to depart.
