Enzo Maresca has just conducted his post-match press conference following Chelsea's goalless draw with Everton at Goodison Park.

The Blues had opportunities to take all three points on Merseyside but were left frustrated. Here is every word head coach Maresca had to say as he reflected on the draw for the west Londoners...

An ugly game. Are you happy with the result?

"I'm absolutely happy. I just said to the players that I am more happy today than the Brentford game. The reason why is because I was quite worried about today's game; a tricky game, a tricky stadium, a tricky team.

"They are defensively top. They are one of the five best teams in Europe in terms of clean sheets. You struggle to create chances against them and it was not an easy game. You have to deal and you have to learn to play different games; long balls, second balls, set-pieces. Football is not just what we do on the ball, it is also how you defend and deal with that.

"Like I said, more happy today than the Brentford game. For sure, prepared the game like always to try and win the game but sometimes there is also another team there that tries to do the same, so we are happy today."

What do you think you could have done differently in the second-half today to create chances?

"I said, we knew already it was a tough game in terms of creating chances. If you see them in the last game against Arsenal, but in general, you always struggle to create chances against them. For sure, we could attack better but there was not space for Cole [Palmer]. In the last half an hour, we tried to move Enzo [Fernandez] as an attacking midfielder, with Malo [Gusto] next to Moi [Caicedo] to change something

"But overall, in this type of game, knowing you are not going to create too many chances, you have to be clinical. In the first-half, we had the Nico [Jackson] one-on-one with the 'keeper, the post from Nico, we had another two or three chances inside the box. If you are able to be clinical there and score, then the game is probably different but until that moment, you are going to struggle."

A word on Tosin Adarabioyo's performance and how important he will be considering the injuries you've got?

"Tosin was very good. Levi [Colwill] was very good. All the players defensively today, we were very good, so I'm happy for them. Again, a clean sheet, we don't concede. We arrived to the Christmas moment second in the table with the best attack and one of the best defences, so we are happy but the most important thing is we need to learn to play different kind of games and today was not an easy game."

How good was Robert Sanchez today?

"I think Robert did one save first-half and then in the second-half, he did one more. So, overall, for sure, we are happy with Robert but overall, he is there to help us when we need him."

Was it difficult to play in the windy conditions?

"As I said, today's game was a completely different game compared to the rest. We had to learn and we had to deal with long balls, second balls, channels, set-pieces, throw-ins - it is not easy. But the way they showed togetherness was brilliant today."
