Every word Jurgen Klopp said about Arne Slot ahead of Liverpool appointment amid Anfield message
The Jurgen Klopp era is over, but his legacy will carry on. Arne Slot picks up the Liverpool baton out of Klopp’s outstretched hand after an unforgettable stint that bore eight trophies.
If Slot can emulate anything near that, Reds fans would be ecstatic. Klopp has urged supporters to get behind the new manager, who was confirmed as head coach on Monday.
The German himself says he is pleased with the club’s choice of successor and has hailed the success of Slot’s Feyenoord side, who won the Eredivisie last season and the Dutch Cup last month. Here is everything Klopp has said about the new Liverpool head coach.

'I like his way of football'
Speaking on April 26, Klopp said: “I like a lot about it, if he [Slot] is the one, he wants to take the job. He is desperate. ‘Come on, let’s go for it. Excited.’
“I like the way his team play football. All the things I hear about him as a guy, a good guy. Some people I know, know him, I don’t know him yet. Some people tell me that he is a really good guy. I like that a lot.
“Good coach, good guy. I am looking forward for the club if he is the solution or the man. I’m more than happy. It’s not up to me to judge these things but it all sounds really good to me.
“It is the best job in the world, best club in the world, best job in the world. Obviously now I even help by not finishing on a high, it looks like. There is space for improvement. Great job, great team, fantastic people. He ‘would’ take a really, really interesting job.”
'A really good manager'
Speaking after draw with West Ham on April 27, the German said: "If I don't know a manager personally I can only touch the subject from watching their team and the way they play football… Feyenoord are a really, really good football team, and he is definitely a really good manager.
"I am happy for the club if it happens. I don't know it for sure. It is not too important if I am happy, other people make the decisions and they will do it right, so I am happy."
'The club is in good hands'
Speaking on Friday, Klopp said: “We have a good team, a really good manager is coming in - and we have all these guys too. The club is in good hands. People might worry about the future but I’m not.
“I really want the club to do well. It is not that I am thinking ‘how will that all go?' No, no. It is fine. But they will have to do it themselves and speak about themselves.”
'Support Slot from day one'
Speaking to fans during his farewell speech on Sunday, the 56-year-old said: “You welcome the new manager like you welcomed me. You go all-in from the first day. And you keep believing and you push the team.”
"We decide if we are worried or excited. We decide if we believe or don't believe. We decide if we trust or we don't trust. "I stay a believer, 100 per cent. Change is good."

"When the next season starts you are not waiting to see what’s going on, no you go full throttle into it. You welcome the new manager like you welcome me. You go all in from the first day.
"And when it’s hard, you keep believing. When it’s difficult, you keep believing and you push the team, for a goal or whatever. I’m one of you now, I love you to bits.”
