Ex-Albion striker on the move again as he looks to re-ignite career in Championship
Former Albion striker Aaron Connolly is on the move again.
He has returned south and joined Championship outfit Millwall from Sunderland on a permanent deal.
Connolly appears to be effectively replacing Tom Bradshaw, who has joined Championship rivals Oxford.
The 24-year-old from Galway joined the Black Cats at the start of this season and scored his only goal in their 1-1 draw against the Lions at the Den in November.
He has previously had spells with Middlesbrough and Hull as well as being capped by the Republic of Ireland.
His debut could come against Hull this weekend.
Millwall director of football Steve Gallen said: “We’re pleased to bring Aaron into the club. (He) has been a bit unlucky not to play a bit more at Sunderland this season, but that has given us an opportunity to get him in.
"Still only 24, Aaron has a lot of experience for his age.
“He is at his best when running at defenders and we hope he gets plenty of opportunities to do that with us."
Connolly’s arrival cleared the way for fellow striker Bradshaw to leave the Den and link up with his former boss Gary Rowett at Oxford on a permanent deal.
Millwall are currently 14th in the table, well away from both the play-off frame and the bottom three.
