Ex-Chelsea and Arsenal star completes shock transfer after Premier League window closes
Former Chelsea and Arsenal forward Willian has re-signed for Fulham. The 36-year-old, who left the Cottagers at the end of last season to join Olympiacos, has returned to Craven Cottage on a deal until the summer.
Willian first made the move to Fulham on a one-year contract in September 2022 and impressed during his first season at the west London club - scoring five times and adding five assists in 30 matches. In that period, Willian netted the club's goal of the season with a fine strike against Nottingham Forest.
After much deliberation the following summer, Willian, who was inundated with offers, committed his future to Fulham and signed another one-year deal. He continued to excel with the Whites - and found the net five times - while providing two assists in 37 games across all competitions during the 2023/2024 season.

Willian's time at Fulham came to an end last summer, as he made the move to Olympiacos. But the Brazilian failed to settle in Greece and agreed to terminate his contract in December with a view of returning to England.
Now, it has been confirmed that Willian has returned to Fulham for a second spell, and signed a contract running until the end of the season. "I'm really happy to be back here," Willian said. "I think it's a great opportunity again to play for this club, and I'm fully motivated to get on the pitch and do things well for this club.
"I'm completely happy - and my family's happy. We are happy to be back - and I think we can do good things until the end of the season. I can't wait to start with my teammates and do good things inside the pitch."
Willian has enjoyed an illustrious career. Following a six-year stint at Shakhtar Donetsk in Ukraine and a short spell with Russian side Anzhi Makhachkala, the Brazil winger moved to Chelsea for £30million in August 2013. Willian hit the ground running at Stamford Bridge and became a firm fans' favourite for his performances.
During his time at Chelsea, Willian won two Premier League titles, one FA Cup, one League Cup and one Europa League. He scored 63 goals and added 57 assists in 339 matches for the Blues.
However, Willian left Chelsea in August 2020 to make the move across London to Arsenal. Willian's time at the Gunners was not as successful, though, while he struggled. Despite providing three assists on his Arsenal debut against Fulham, that was as good as it got for Willian at the Emirates Stadium.
Willian described his spell at Arsenal as "the worst time that he had lived as a professional". He later left the club to return to Brazil and joined Corinthians.
