Ex-Hull City striker Aaron Connolly set for showdown Sunderland transfer talks
Former Hull City striker Aaron Connolly faces an increasingly uncertain future at Sunderland, with manager Roger Le Bris admitting the pair will have talks about what the future holds this month. Speculation is mounting that Connolly could join Millwall, who the Tigers face at The Den in Saturday's 12:30pm kick-off.
Connolly, who left City last summer after the Tigers opted against extending his MKM Stadium contract, joined the Black Cats at the end of September but has found opportunities limited.
Though he played the whole 120 minutes in the extra-time FA Cup defeat to Stoke City on Saturday, Connolly has only two Championship appearances to his name since the beginning of December, totalling just 24 minutes.

Since arriving on Wearside, the 24-year-old from Galway has managed just 10 league outings, including 15 minutes off the bench in the 1-0 win at City in late October.
The Irishman penned a one-year deal at the Stadium of Light but could yet leave the club with the promotion hopefuls eyeing January additions in the top half of the pitch. Those potential new recruits would further limit his chances of playing regularly, given he already finds himself behind in-form Wilson Isidor and Eliezer Mayend, while Nazariy Rusyn has crept above him in the pecking order.
"I think it's more a question of momentum," the Frenchman said. "We spoke a lot with Aaron. Eli started well and then was injured. After Wilson was very good and they built momentum. When you have this momentum, you have to trust the players. If I change every time it doesn't make sense. For Aaron, he's still a good player and teammate but he has to wait.
"We'll see [what the future holds]. It's still important we have this discussion and conversation with him this month and we'll look to build the best pathway for our players. Sometimes it's not your story. We don't know at the moment what will be the outcome, we'll have this conversation."
