Nottingham Forest's defender Neco Williams has described the upcoming Premier League fixture against Liverpool as "special" following the team's impressive victory over Wolves. With six consecutive wins under their belt, including the 3-0 win at Molineux with goals from Morgan Gibbs-White, Chris Wood, and Taiwo Awoniyi, Forest is now shifting the Premier League dynamics.

This latest triumph has placed Nuno Espirito Santo's side just six points behind the leading Reds, setting up a crucial encounter at the City Ground next Tuesday, which could prove if Forest are true title contenders.

Speaking to BBC Radio Nottingham, Williams expressed optimism and focus within the squad saying: "We are still only halfway through the season, we have still got a lot more to give. "

He emphasised the importance of approaching matches one at a time, with the team currently preparing for Luton in the FA Cup before facing Liverpool, admitting that the match will be challenging but also a chance to continue their winning trajectory. Williams highlighted the significance of the clash, adding: "It will be special for the whole team, we are up there, we are the only team to beat them this season so hopefully we can do that again. ".

"But it’s going to be tough, we know how good they are, they are probably one of the best teams in the world right now, but with our confidence, our winning form, our 12th man, which is the fans, if that all comes together than we will have a chance."

Wolves' new manager Vitor Pereira encountered defeat for the first time and is eager to strengthen his squad facing a growing injury list.

"If we want to be honest, we know and everybody knows, that we need some positions," said Pereira. "We need to bring players to help us, more solutions to face this league, and the club is working."

"I believe that the players will come – not too many players, because I don’t want too many, but we need to recover our players as soon as possible and to bring two or three players to balance the team."
