Excellent Cardiff City player ratings as star man top class and defender issues perfect response
Jak Alnwick 7
Dan Barlaser sent a testing shot his way which he pawed away early on. Also made a smart save from Emmanuel Latte Lath's header.

Continues to make a mark at right. Mops up well and finds himself in the right place at the right time. Another excellent outing.
Dimitrios Goutas 8
Allowed Latte Lath across him for the opening goal but otherwise did a tremendous job amid the onslaught of attacks. So good late on at soaking up the pressure.
Jesper Daland 8
Recovered so well following his disappointing mistake against Coventry. A really positive response from the centre-back. The perfect response, really. Sign up to our daily Cardiff City newsletter here.
Callum O'Dowda 6
Not often you see the Irishman ripped apart by frightening pace but Ben Doak, who got past him to set up their goal, gave him some real trouble. Better later on, though, against Isaiah Jones.
Calum Chambers 8 (star man)
Continues to impress in that midfield role and hit a lovely 20-yard effort to get Cardiff back level. Defensively top class, too.
Alex Robertson 7
Couldn't get Cardiff playing due to lack of possession and was dragged into the more defensive side of things, so he couldn't really flourish. But got stuck in well.
Manolis Sopis 8
Was a really awkward customer for Boro's midfielders. Stuck his foot in and tried to break up their attacks best he could. Led Cardiff's press tremendously well.

Ollie Tanner 6
Had one lovely strike in the opening minutes saved by Tom Glover, diving to his left. Was really quiet thereafter, though.
Rubin Colwill 7
Was deployed as a false 9 and had to challenge for countless headers. Had a huge chance late on but sent a header inches wide. A battling display nonetheless.
Cian Ashford 7
Had one penalty appeal waved away. Didn't have enough of the ball to make that much of an impact, just like his fellow attackers, but made more of an impact after the break.
Subs
Chris Willock (Tanner 65) 6 - Sent one shot whistling over the bar but was tidy with the ball at his feet.
Yakou Meite (Colwill 79) 6 - Got stuck in with some battling duels late on and took a knock for his troubles.
Joel Bagan (Ashford 79) 6 - No frills, as is his way, but defended manfully when needed late on.
Joe Ralls (Robertson 83) NA
