EXETER City are rewarding supporters for their ‘incredible support and dedication’ by capping ticket prices for their FA Cup fourth round clash with Premier League high fliers Nottingham Forest as their standard league match pricing, writes Stuart James.

At a time clubs seem keen to exploit their hardy fanbase, the Grecians have stayed true to the people that own their club with the highest price just £27 for an adult season in the Adam Stansfield or Main Stand.

A statement from the club read: “To reward your incredible support and dedication not only this season but during our journey, we have decided to cap match ticket prices at our standard league match pricing.

“Many other clubs have seen these highly-anticipated cup matches as an opportunity to increase ticket prices; we will not do this as we demonstrate the values which make us the unique club that we are.

“The financial benefit of the cup run and TV selection means we are able to keep the prices at the current rate, and ensure it is accessible to our wider fanbase.”

Nick Hawker, chair of the club and Exeter City Supporters’ Trust, said: “This decision is to reward our incredible supporters’ commitment and enthusiasm not only this season but also during our fantastic history. Being supporter-owned, the Club takes pride in the role played within the local community. Football must be for everyone, and we are committed to ensuring as many fans as possible can join us for this special occasion.

“The financial benefit of the cup run and the match being selected for TV means we can keep prices locked and ensure it is accessible to our wide fan base.”

Nick added: “This is the first time in 44 years that City have qualified for the fourth round of the FA Cup, and this tie demonstrates the journey we have been on as a club and community.”

Due to the expected demand for tickets, the club have adopted their standard priority window for the game, so season ticket holders will have first dibs when they went on sale today.

Tickets will then go on sale to gold members on Monday, January 27 at midday; gold and silver members on Saturday, February 1 and gold, silver and bronze members on Wednesday, February 5. If there are any remaining, they will go on general sale on Friday, February 7.

Supporters are advised that the priority window will allow one ticket per season ticket holder and one ticket per member. Tickets will then be capped at two per person if they go to general sale.
