Aston Villa are in the hat for the fourth round of the FA Cup for only the second time in nine years after they overcame Premier League rivals West Ham United in Graham Potter's first game in charge at a bitterly cold Villa Park on Friday night. Lucas Paqueta opened the scoring early on for the Irons, but Villa replied in the second half through Amadou Onana and Morgan Rogers to seal victory and progress.

Villa haven't made it a habit to advance in recent years; they edged past Middlesbrough last year before falling to Chelsea in the fourth round, but that was on the back of seven straight years being knocked out at the first hurdle. Prior to that, the last significant FA Cup adventure came under Tim Sherwood, when they reached the final before being humbled by Arsenal.

Playing on Friday night, ahead of the bulk of third round ties, means that Villa can put their feet up this weekend and see how the round unfolds elsewhere, safe in the knowledge that they've already secured their own place in the draw, which takes place on Sunday 12 January, following the conclusion of Arsenal v Manchester United which kicks off at 3pm.

Hosted by Kelly Somers, the draw will be made by Martin Keown and Mark Schwarzer on BBC One, potentially around 5pm - but that'll depend on when the Arsenal v Man United game finishes, a game which conceivably head into extra time and penalties, which will occur if they're required.

Villa are, at the time of writing, one of only five sides in the hat; Everton beat Peterborough on Thursday, while Fulham also eased past Watford and Cardiff edged out Sheffield United. Elsewhere on Friday night, Wycombe Wanderers knocked out Portsmouth. All of the above sides will eagerly await to discover their next opponents. The full list of ball numbers is below...
